Eucharistic Adoration has been one of the unexpected but enduring graces of World Youth Day since its beginnings over 20 years ago.
In fact, Eucharistic Adoration begun at World Youth Days, has helped renew young people?s enthusiasm for the celebration of Mass, its preparation through Confession and its continuation in Adoration and a Eucharistic life lived out in justice and charity in the world.
The WYD08 Eucharistic Adoration Campaign, which we have termed Holy Hour of Power, is an invitation to every parish, school, university and other chaplaincy to hold a Holy Hour of Power each week in the lead up to WYD08. For those that already have such an hour, we challenge them to increase their time and fervour in Adoration.

The following materials will be able to assist you in joining the WYD08 Eucharistic Adoration campaign
The Holy Hour of Power kit which includes catechesis; reflections; biblical references; prayers; testimonies; practical information for coordinating and establishing Eucharistic Adoration.
Weekly Parish inserts for bulletins up until the end of 2008 which will assist parishioners in understanding the importance of Eucharistic Adoration with quotes from Saints and the Holy Fathers. This is provided in Appendix 2 of the Holy Hour of Power Kit.
Holy Hour of Power posters which communicate to parishioners that they are invited to participate in the Holy Hour of Power.
Special thanks to all of you who will use the Holy Hour of Power Kit, weekly inserts and Holy Hour of Power posters to help bring young people closer to God. You have a real opportunity not only to share the grace of World Youth Day with them but to be a channel of that grace.
